Emotional support dogs are dogs that can be employed by people with a variety of mental health disabilities. While it is certainly recognized that animals can be beneficial to people with mental health disabilities, emotional support dogs are not service dogs and should not be confused with service dogs such as Psychiatric Service Dogs.
